The Vancouver Island Regional Coordinator has a mandate to provide guidance, direction, and assistance to all the Child Care Resource and Referral programs on Vancouver Island. The main goals are as follows:
- To offer board support to the Vancouver Island Child Care Resource and Referral programs: Victoria, Sooke and the Westshore, Cowichan, and PacificCare (serves Ladysmith north).
- Mentorship to Child Care Resource and Referral Coordinators as required.
- Coordinated sharing of information with provincial, regional, and local agencies and partners.
- Regional training and outreach activities coordinated for all regions.
- Networking among Child Care Resource and Referral programs.
- Create greater awareness among community stakeholders and the public of child care needs and services.
- Ensure access to regional websites of local child care related resources and child care services for child care providers and parents.
- Provide leadership and coordination between Regional Coordinators, Ministry, and Child Care Resource and Referral agencies on provincial planning and implementation.
